Shannon Norris, LCSW
As a therapist I have the unique task of helping you figure out what “stuff” you want to untangle so you can see the world in a way that will allow you to live the life you want to be living.

I am also an incredibly imperfect human, just like everyone else, who believes that everyone is doing the very best they can with what they have at the time. There are many things in life that can make it seem unmanageable, from trauma to addiction to parenting to just living life. I love having the opportunity to help clients figure out how we can work to make their lives more manageable.
About Me
Being a southern transplant, I received an undergraduate (Rutgers University) and Masters (Monmouth University) degree in New Jersey, where I worked in substance abuse prevention with children and adolescents. In Louisiana, I have worked extensively with those affected by trauma, family dysfunction and those using or loving someone who is using substances.

I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) level one trained therapist, and level 1 trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I was also certified in family of origin therapy at The Meadows in Arizona. Through my work at a Federally Qualified Health Center for many years, I have had the opportunity to work with a multitude of clients who were all in very different places on their journey.
